Founded in 2018 with an initial donation of $1,000, Weekend-Adventures is dedicated to broadening the horizons of children and youth beyond their immediate communities. Our mission is to show youth and children who they are beyond their neighborhoods. We do this by leading experiential trips into the arts, sciences and the outdoors.
Since our inception, we have impacted numerous families and successfully raised $450,000 in support of our programs. As we enter a new phase of growth, we are transitioning from a fiscally sponsored initiative to establishing ourselves as an independent organization. This strategic shift will enable us to expand our services, diversify our revenue streams, and build a sustainable infrastructure to further our mission.

We are seeking a minimum of eight dedicated board members
To support this exciting transition, we are seeking a minimum of eight dedicated board members with at least three years of experience in areas such as fundraising and finance, communications, leadership development, human resources, and organizational strategy. As a board member, you will collaborate closely with the founding director to ensure the continued success and growth of Weekend-Adventures.
Our goal is to submit our charitable organization application by January 2025. We are looking for individuals who are not only passionate about our mission but are also comfortable volunteering in a dynamic, start-up environment.
